Purchasing Supervisor 

First Source Worldwide, LLC. (FSW) is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to oversee the daily activities of the purchasing department, companywide. This role will support all Planning, Competitive Quotes, and Purchasing functions to ensure that the group’s objectives and processes align with the overall business direction.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Supply Chain, Quotes and Purchasing functions, and is responsible to ensure compliance with relevant company policies and procedures, legislation, and industry standards. Develop, implement, and maintain policies & procedures where gaps are present. Define and establish programs and processes that optimize company effectiveness.
  • Participate in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people.
  • Evaluate and analyze purchasing & price trends to identify forecasting demands and minimize purchasing costs.
  • Travel to other facilities to partner with various departments and learn products, operations, and processes.
  • Ensure budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
  • Work with teams from both the vendor and internally to ensure that mftg. and demand are synchronized.
    •  Participate in routine meetings to work closely with customer-focused teams; fully understands planned volumes to be manufactured.
  • Lead and motivate staff. Take the lead on difficult employee situations.
  • Work with employees to plan, assign, and monitor individual objectives and activities based on overall group priorities, and co. strategy. Provide useful and timely feedback on their performance and development plan.
  • Ensure corrective actions plans are documented and instituted quickly for performance levels under standard.
  • Responsible for complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of FSW.
  • Liaison with specified suppliers and vendors to maintain relationship, programs and processes to meet business goals and objectives. Implement, monitor and document performance.
    • Negotiate pricing and contracts for more complex POs.
  • Provide various reports, analyses, and recommendations defined by management, regularly and ad hoc.
  • Manage deliverables agreed to, providing mgt. with regular updates, identifying issues/barriers, and solutions.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned (this list is not inclusive).


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, preferred with a minimum of 5 years or related work experience and 1 year of leadership/supervisory experience; or equivalent of Associate degree with a minimum of 9 years’ experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in the manufacturing industry; previous ISO experience desired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships at all levels of the organization; team player.
  • Excellent skills with/at negotiation, business mindset, organizational (project management), result oriented and time management, especially as it relates to handling multiple projects/accounts.
  • Ability to learn and train on new material, take direction, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
  • Ability to provide timely and accurate turnaround on tasks, at times with strict deadlines and moderate direction.
  • Ability to coordinate benchmarking activities including comparing rates between service providers and analyzing company-wide and location specific spend data.
  • A change agent for process improvement.
  • Familiar with delivery localization and supplier develop method and processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint; teams experience a plus.
  • Prior experience using ERP systems; an in-depth knowledge of Supply Chain software preferred (i.e. VMI, VCI).
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to FSW facilities in the U.S. Intl. travel may be required in the future.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test, post-employment offer.

Duties and Responsibilities

Technical Sales Representatives service geographical regions in specific markets. They are experts in their fields with superior technical knowledge of chemistry and colorants and how they apply to the market. They are apt at seeking out opportunities and working with clients to meet their needs.


Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Science, Chemistry, or a specific application is required. Five to ten years of experience in the field, in a combination of lab, manufacturing, or sales is expected. Global perspective of tactical planning across products, services, and markets is a must. Technical Sales Representatives must be great communicators and team leaders both in person and off site.
